BEIJING -- The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) has issued a document seeking measures to further strengthen the monitoring and supervision of the procuratorial agencies' work in handling criminal cases.
The SPP said in a statement Thursday that the document listed the key areas for supervision with detailed stipulations covering the procuratorates' work of case investigation, arrest approval and prosecution procedures.
The document underlines the time limits, use of compulsory measures and management of properties involved in relevant cases during these procedures as areas that need careful scrutiny.
It also calls for stepped-up supervision of procedures that matter for the protection of litigation rights of relevant parties and the rights of lawyers.
