Dachang town and Chehe town in Nandan county, Hechi made the 2019 Top 100 Towns in Western China list, according to the China Township Comprehensive Competitiveness Report 2019that was released on Sept 8.
The report was jointly released in Beijing by institutions like Competitiveness Think Tank, the Information Development Research Institute of China Information Association, and Beijing Zhongxin Urban Planning and Design Institute.
2020 is the year of building a well-off society in an all-around way. In order to promote rural revitalization, the report's research team, made townships in the country their object of research, evaluating the comprehensive competitiveness of townships in terms of economic scale, economic vitality, and per capita level.
In order to guide the high-quality development of towns, the evaluation system did not include regional GDP indicators.
Dachang town is well-known both at home and abroad for its rich tin ore-based non-ferrous metals. It boasts 1.21 million tons in tin reserves, accounting for 22.7 percent of the national total and 6.2 percent of the world's total.
Chehe town is rich in mineral resources, containing more than 20 kinds of non-ferrous metal mines, such as tin, lead, and zinc. Among them, it has 905,500 tons in tin ore reserves, 4,188 tons in indium metal reserves, 5.1 million tons in zinc ore reserves, 720,000 tons in antimony ore reserves, and 990,000 tons in lead ore reserves, worth a value of more than $70 billion.
