A strategic cooperation signing ceremony was held in Quzhou city in East China's Zhejiang province on Sept 11, which could see the giant city of Shanghai provide a long-term boost to the growth of the smaller metropolis, according to local officials.
At the event, the Quzhou municipal government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Alliance in the Yangtze River Delta – or the YRD - and the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce, in Shanghai.
A number of individual project cooperation agreements were also signed, officials said.
Wang Junjin, chairman of major Shanghai-based investment holding company JuneYao Group Co Ltd, said that Quzhou has long been known as a thoroughfare between four provinces: Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi and Anhui.
The city boasts a long history, rich culture, pleasant living environment, advantageous geographical location and strong economy.
Wang said the Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Alliance in the YRD and the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai, will help Quzhou integrate in the YRD.
He said they will jointly plan new growth opportunities with Quzhou,helping the city become a new industrial highland.
