Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, recently released an action plan for promoting the development of its digital creative industry development from 2020 to 2022.
According to the plan, the scale and development of the city's digital creative industry will be of a leading position in the province by 2022, while the industry scale is expected to exceed 80 billion yuan ($11.79 billion).
The Jinan government will promote the development of digital creative products in the fields of manufacturing, culture, education, tourism and exhibition and encourage cross-sector cooperation to help increase the added value of products.
In terms of manufacturing, the city will enhance the core competitiveness of domestic independent industrial software.
As for culture and education fields, the city will encourage the development of a digital system for cultural exposition and promote the digital protection and utilization of cultural heritages.
In the field of tourism exhibition fields, more efforts will be made to enhance tourism products and services, develop animation themed parks and virtual tourism exhibitions, and build online exhibition platforms.
Jinan will also offer preferential policies for digital creative enterprises, such as levying corporate income tax at a reduced tax rate of 15 percent.
