The unveiling ceremony for the China-ASEAN Institute of Financial Cooperation in Guangxi University (GXU) was held on Sept 9.
The China-ASEAN Institute of Financial Cooperation aims to serve the construction of several national major development strategies, including the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the open financial gateway for ASEAN, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridort in the western region, as well as the China-ASEAN Information Port.
The institute will showcase ASEAN characteristics to become a first-level institute for cultivating financial talents, a high-end think tank for financial decision making, the permanent mechanism for multilateral financial cooperation, and an incubation platform for industry-university-research cooperation in financial technologies.
The establishment of the institute will also push forward the implementation of the financial targets in the China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership Vision 2030.
Hoang Ngoc Vinh, consul general of Vietnam in Nanning, said that the Consulate General of Vietnam in Nanning is willing to become a bridge for cooperation between the institute and GXU with relevant departments and universities in Vietnam.
