Sept 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 10 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Shaanxi province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 13 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 963 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged. 

As of 24:00 on Sept 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,635 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,484 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 151 confirmed cases (including 1 in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,184 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,399 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 151 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 822,554 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,729 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 70 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 12 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 12, 357 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 356 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 12, 5,482 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 4,938 in Hong Kong (100 had died and 4,613 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 498 in Taiwan (7 had died and 475 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
