Sept 12: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 6 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Shaanxi province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 9 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 351 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Sept 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,625 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,471 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 154 confirmed cases (including 1 in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Sept 11, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,174 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,386 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 154 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 821,662 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,800 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 19 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 18 imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Sept 11, 299 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 298 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 11, 5,469 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 4,925 in Hong Kong (99 had died and 4,598 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 498 in Taiwan (7 had died and 475 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
