A livestreaming activity was launched in Du'an Yao autonomous county on Sept 9 to help improve the influence of Hechi's agricultural products and promote local specialties to an expanded market.

The event was sponsored by the Organization Department of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee, the Party Working Committee of the Guangxi Non-public Economic Organizations and Social Organizations, the Guangxi Commerce Department, and the Hechi government.

Enterprises from the poverty-stricken autonomous counties of Du'an Yao, Luocheng Mulao and Dahua Yao, as well as other counties and districts, were organized to promote local agricultural products in 11 livestreaming rooms.

Only one hour after the live streaming started on Sept 9, it had attracted more than 500,000 viewers and achieved sales exceeding 1 million yuan ($146,262).

Wei Xianqiang, director of the E-commerce and Information Technology Division of the Guangxi Commerce Department, said that it is important to promote high-quality products into the market, to drive farmers' incomes, increase business efficiency, upgrade industries, and consolidate and expand the results of poverty alleviation.

The launch of the livestreaming activity will help people benefit from live e-commerce in poverty-stricken areas in Hechi, as well as provide strong support for completing Hechi's 2020 poverty alleviation task.

The livestreaming event lasted for two days. It was conducted through live platforms such as Taobao, Tmall, WeChat, Pinduoduo, JD, Douyin, and Kuaishou, aggregating advantageous resources of e-commerce platforms to provide consumers with high-quality and low-cost products.
