The upcoming 17th China-ASEAN Expo Agriculture Exhibition, to be held in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, will use livestreaming to reenergize agricultural trade between China and ASEAN countries, the organizers said on Sept 7.
The CAEXPO Secretariat said that new initiatives, such as introducing agricultural e-commerce platforms and agricultural big data institutions, will be taken to upgrade the CAEXPO Agricultural Exhibition which will run from Sept 18-21.
CAEXPO has been staged 16 times and the accumulated number of foreign exhibitors participating in the events has reached 832,000.
The 16th CAEXPO in 2019 attracted a total of 122 purchasing groups, an increase of 9 percent on the previous year.
Special products from ASEAN countries such as Cambodian rice, beer from Laos and edible Malaysian bird's nests -- as well as Chinese products including electrical equipment and packaging machinery -- have been promoted to larger markets with the help of previous events.
The CAEXPO Secretariat noted that this year's expo will further establish a big platform for the products trade.
It will also boost the development of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and make more contributions to the rapidly reviving regional economy in the post-pandemic era.
