LUSAKA -- Lawrence Banda, vice secretary-general of the Universal Peace Federation - Zambia Chapter, on Sept 8 commended China and the Chinese people for advancing what he called the ultimate goal of human existence amid their anti-COVID-19 efforts made to the world.
"It is in the best interest of the world to promote the vision of a community with shared future for mankind because global peace and prosperity depend on it," said Banda.
"Such calls deserve the support of the global community because they seek to bring about global peace, prosperity as well as security. It is good to note that China has been consistent in promoting the vision of a community with shared future for mankind," Banda said.
According to him, it is an inescapable truth that no one country can fully realize its aspirations without the support of the international community and it is a fact that the world is now one big space with many interlinked players.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that we need to work together as a global community in order to fight challenges, such as poverty and disease," he said.
Banda further said that triumphing over challenges such as COVID-19 will require nations to work in unison at all times.
