Yizhou's industrial output exceeds $395m in H1

In the first half of this year, Yizhou district in Hechi achieved a total output value of 2.71 billion yuan ($397.28 million) and an added value of 670 million yuan for industries above designated size.

In recent years, Yizhou district has implemented an innovation-driven development strategy. It has accelerated the construction of enterprise technological innovation systems, as well as guided enterprises to apply new technologies, new processes, and new equipment to promote the upgrading and transformation of advantageous industries, such as cocoon silk, agricultural and sideline food processing, as well as chemical industries.

Industrial chains have been expanded and the high-quality development of the industrial economy has been greatly promoted.

The district has added energy-saving, emission-reduction, and environmental protection facilities in industrial parks, shut down high-energy-consuming and heavily polluting enterprises, as well as guided enterprises to increase their capital investment in scientific and technological research and development, promoting green and sustainable industrial development.

Yizhou has increased its support for technical reforms of traditional enterprises, as well as developed the industrial clusters of fine chemicals, silkworm cocoons, and cane sugar to promote industrial inventory adjustment, incremental optimization, and quality improvement.

Yizhou has also improved its business environment. It has built a platform to help companies solve the difficulties and problems encountered in their development, formulated an annual cultivation plan, established a catalogue database for cultivating enterprises, as well as implemented incentives and support measures for small and micro enterprises. It has also explored cooperation between industrial parks, institutes, and schools to enhance market operation competitiveness.

In 2019, the district cultivated six industrial enterprises above designated size and five above-quota enterprises. Four new enterprises were added to the cocoon and silk industry incubator where 23 enterprises and more than 30 projects were incubating.
