A book release for Analysis and Prospects of Shanxi Culture and Tourism Development in 2019-2020 -- a so-called green book or academic study compiled by Shanxi University -- took place at a seminar on the subject on Aug 20 in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province.
Professor Zhang Shiman from the College of History and Culture (School of Tourism) at Shanxi University, the editor of the green book, introduced it contained 33 important articles.
He said there are seven sections, including an annual report, integration of culture and tourism and research into local tourism, reflecting important and much-debated issues in Shanxi's culture and tourism sectors.
It is the seventh tourism green book compiled and published by Shanxi University since 2014.
Compared to previous editions, this year's green book has added reports and features about culture. It has also collected interviews with eight experts and representatives of institutions in the culture and tourism sectors, themed on the impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic on culture and tourism and offering solutions.
Rong Jinguang, deputy director of the Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism, said the book was important as a reference for making decisions, for its compiled data and tourism staff training and he put forward suggestions for future tourism research.
More than 40 insiders in the culture and tourism sectors attended the seminar, sharing opinions and advice on Shanxi province's cultural and tourism development.
