Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality and Hunan University in Central China's Hunan province signed an agreement to co-establish an institute on Aug 19.
According to the contract, the new education institute will have cutting-edge technologies and teams focused on new-energy engines, vehicle vibration reduction, intelligent information technology and smart transport.
The institute will cultivate high-end personnel with product development experience and promote high-tech achievements in Liangjiang.
Meanwhile, the institute will provide scientific research support and incubation services to domestic and international universities and research institutions looking to commercialize their scientific and technological achievements.
Hunan University is one of China's Project 211 and Project 985 universities and aims to become a world-class higher education facility. It has one graduate school and 25 faculties, with seven disciplines listed among the top 1 percent of the Essential Science Indicators' ranking.
Liangjiang strives to develop top-quality high-tech industries and accelerate the construction of an intelligent Chongqing through the development of Liangjiang Coordinative Zone, Lijia Intelligent Park and Liangjiang Digital Economy Industrial Park.
