Yulin Fumian Airport in Yulin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is due to start official operation on Aug 28 and the first flight to take off from it will be conducted by Hainan Airlines to Beijing.

Located in Shihe town's Wangjiu village, the airport is 21 kilometers away from downtown Yulin. Designed as a domestic branch airport for civil aviation and transport, the airport has a new terminal building spanning 21,100 square meters and seven C-class aprons.

The airport is expected to be able to handle an annual passenger throughput of 1.5 million, an annual cargo throughput of 5,000 metric tons, and a maximum passenger number of 392 per hour during peak hours by 2030.

A total of five airlines will be part of the airport's first-phase operation, allowing passengers to arrive in seven domestic cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an in Shaanxi province, Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, Kunming in Yunnan province, and Haikou in Hainan province.

The airport has been planned to further optimize the flight timetable and gradually open new air routes to other cities like Chengdu in Sichuan province, Changsha in Hunan province, and Guangzhou in Guangdong province, bringing more comfortable and convenient travel experiences for passengers.

Currently, a special shuttle bus connecting downtown Yulin and the airport has been opened, with a travel time of about 40 minutes. A number of 259 parking spaces are available in the airport and 26 of them have electric vehicle chargers.
