Event on biotech commercialization held at Shanxi University

A symposium on research on biotechnology commercialization was held on Aug 17 at Shanxi University (SXU) in Taiyuan city, North China's Shanxi province.

Xie Hong, vice-chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Ren Wuxian, chairman of Yabao Pharmaceutical Group Co and Wang Yanglin, Party secretary of Shanxi University, attended the meeting.

Participants conducted in-depth exchanges and put forward suggestions on how to promote scientific research innovation, tech achievement commercialization and school-enterprise cooperation in combination with their respective professional fields.

SXU Party secretary Wang welcomed the participants to the event, giving thanks for the long-term support from the CPPCC Shanxi Provincial Committee and Yabao Pharmaceutical Group Co.

Wang gave a briefing on the university's activities in serving regional economic and industrial development.

Meanwhile, CPPCC Shanxi Provincial Committee's Xie Hong affirmed the achievements of Shanxi University in scientific research innovation and tech achievement commercialization in recent years.

She hoped that the university would give full play its advantages in biology, talent and scientific research and expand its school-enterprise cooperation -- targeting the needs of Shanxi province in its economic transformation and upgrading.

Yabao Pharmaceutical Group's Ren Wuxian talked about the development history, corporate culture and featured products of the company.

He expressed his hope for expanded cooperation with the university, more industrialization of its scientific achievements and talent recruitment from SXU.
