The 2020 report on China's 500 most valuable brands was released by World Brand Lab on Aug 5 in Beijing, and several Guizhou-based companies made the prestigious list – including Kweichou Moutai Group, Laoganma Special Flavor Foodstuffs Company, Guizhou Tyre Co's Qianjing Tyre, China Tobacco Guizhou Industrial Co's Huangguoshu Tobacco and China Express.
Kweichou Moutai ranked 17th in the report, with a brand value of 285.52 billion yuan ($40.97 billion) – an increase of 67.8 billion yuan compared to 2019.
Laoganma secured the 352nd position on the list, with a brand value of 16.28 billion yuan; while Qianjin Tyre ranked 362nd, with a brand value of 16.31 billion yuan; Huangguoshu Tobacco ranked 414th, with a brand value of 9.89 billion yuan; and China Express ranked 455th, with a brand value of 8.57 billion yuan.
World Brand Lab is an international brand-value research institute with experts and consultants from top universities around the world. Its research findings have become an important tool for intangible assets evaluation in enterprise mergers and acquisitions.
The annual report of China's 500 most valuable brands has been released for 17 consecutive years. The study uses present earnings to evaluate brand value and integrates consumer research, competition analysis and future-income predictions.
