CDPF, Shaanxi province discuss preparations for national paralympic games

The China Disabled Persons’ Federation (CDPF) and Shaanxi provincediscussed thepreparationfor the 11thNationalGames for Persons with Disabilitiesand the 8thNational Special Olympics Games,ata meeting between the CDPF and Shaanxi province on July 30.

Zhou Changkui, chairman of the CDPF, said that the two national games will be held in the same cityat the same timefor the first time. The preparation work should focus on athletes with disabilities, strengthen overall planning, improve efficiency, and ensure that the two games are organized simultaneously. The CDPF will work with Shaanxi to do its best to host the games.

Fang Guanghua, vice-governor of Shaanxi province, introduced the preparation work done over the past year. The preparatory committee overcame the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and preparations went on smoothly in all aspects. They included formation of the organizing committee and the competition committee, competition preparation, venues and barrier-free construction, volunteer recruitment, news publicity, security, administrative reception, medical and sanitation measures, environmental governance, and weather protection.
