A water carnival in Northeast China's Liaoning province is entertaining visitors with the exotic charm of Southeast Asia that saves them from fatiguing cross-border travel.

The carnival opened on June 20 at a water park named "Bali" in Hot Go Park, a top summer tourism spot at a reform and innovation demonstration zone, which is located between the two major cities in Liaoning province: Shenyang and Fushun. The event will continue to the end of August.

It has invited groups from Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand to perform large-scale receptions and parades that immerse visitors in authentic Southeast Asian culture.

To add more fuel to the festivities, the Bali park has held electronic music parties every weekend since July 4.

By inviting well-known DJs and emcees from across the country and staging firework shows, the electronic music parties highlight the water carnival, according to Wang Xiaojiu, a director with Hot Go Park.

To cater to more visitors seeking water entertainment experiences during summer, the Bali park launched a ticket package, valid until the end of 2020.

Priced at 260 yuan ($37), the package allows buyers to enjoy entertainment services valued at 765 yuan in total, according to the amusement park.

As a representative water park in Northeast China, Bali makes up for the lack of such refreshing facilities in its surrounding cities which are far from the coast, Wang said.

Besides Bali, Hot Go Park is forging a series of other entertainment parks with diverse themes. It aims to develop itself into a comprehensive tourist resort that is usable through all four seasons.

As a national 4A scenic spot, Hot Go Park covers an area of 7 square kilometers. Featuring ecotourism, popular science and education, physical exercise, commercial activities and quality accommodation, the park also attaches great significance to the integrated development of leisure tourism and culture.

The park makes an effort to combine local cultural flavors, traditional Chinese culture and other cultural elements from all over the world with its amusement facilities and equipment to allow visitors to learn about culture while having fun.

Wang said that the hot spring park in Hot Go Park is a project that integrates traditional Chinese health culture and traditional Chinese medicine with a recreation facility.

With an aim to build an international tourist resort, Hot Go Park is playing a leading role in promoting the upgrading and development of the tourism industry in Shenyang, Wang noted.
