Chinese banks applied for the most patents for inventions in the world last year, accounting for 49 percent of the total number of publicized patent for inventions applications.
Banks from the United States and Japan accounted for about 13 percent and 11 percent, respectively, according to a report co-published by IPRDaily and the incoPat Invention Index Research Center.
The top three global banks with the most patents in applications for inventions are all from China, with WeBank taking the lead, followed by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Bank of China.
