East Asia food expo to be held in Yantai

The 15th East Asia International Food Trade Exposition is to be held at Yantai International Exposition Center from Aug 21 to 24.

Hosted by Yantai municipal people's government, the expo aims to promote close exchanges and cooperation in the food industry, as well as further accelerate the high-quality development of Yantai's food industry.

The coastal city of Yantai is seeing rapid development in its food industry. In 2009, Yantai won the title of the "famous food city of China" - the second city in China to win the honor.

The expo has been held for 14 consecutive years and provides food enterprises from across the country with a platform for displaying featured products, purchasing transactions, investment negotiations, and professional seminars.

The 2019 East Asia International Food Trade Exposition set up an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters with a total of 826 booths in 23 exhibition area categories.

It attracted more than 920 enterprises from more than 130 cities in 22 provinces in China. The on-site turnover reached 230 million yuan ($33.1 million).
