Aug 11: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Aug 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 44 new cases of confirmed infections (31 imported cases, 9 in Shaanxi province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Shandong province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Gansu province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Zhejiang province; 13 indigenous cases in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases, 1 in Shanghai and 1 in Fujian province), and no deaths. 52 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,729 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. As of 24:00 on Aug 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,200 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,046 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 154 confirmed cases (including 1 in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Aug 10, the National Health Commission had received reports of 84,712 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 79,284 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 794 confirmed cases (including 44 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 802,273 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 23,790 were still under medical observation.

On Aug 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 17 new asymptomatic cases (including 6 imported cases). 13 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 3 imported cases) and 2 cases became confirmed cases (both were imported cases). As of 24:00 on Aug 10, 285 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 137 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Aug 10, 4,671 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 4,148 in Hong Kong (55 had died and 2,917 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 477 in Taiwan (7 had died and 441 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
