Northeast China’s Jilin province and Northwest China’s Shaanxi province signed cooperation agreements at a video conference held on July 28, according to local officials.
They said the provinces aim to work together to promote synchronized major regional development strategies -- striving for more cooperation, to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.
At the conference, the two sides signed a strategic framework agreement. At the same time, departments, cities and development zones in both provinces signed 14 cooperation agreements on science and technology, finance, tourism and in other fields.
According to Jilin officials, the sigining of these agreements is a practical way to implement the important directive spirit of the central government.
And they said it is also an important measure to link the strategy to revitalize northeast China with the Western Development Strategy.
It is seen to be of great significance, to further deepening the multi-level and all-round cooperation between Jilin and Shaanxi.
Officials from Jilin said they were extremely optimistic.
They said, as a result, both sides would boost cooperation in the auto, pharmaceuticals, optoelectronics, new materials, modern culture and tourism industries.
Officials urged both sides to further expand cooperation between the Changchun New Area, Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone and the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone.
They said this should especially take place in the fields of technology, trade, finance and humanities -- deeply integrating with the Belt and Road Initiative so that both sides became new frontiers in the opening-up.
At the same time, officials added, they would also strengthen linking various provincial mechanisms, normalize their coordination and connections and ensure the implementation of cooperation agreements.
