Shanxi University boosts quality of research papers

Shanxi University located in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province has been improving its scientific research in recent years.

The number of papers published in journals listed in the Scientific Citation Index, which is an influential citation index in Chinese scientific research circles, exceeding 700 in 2019, up from 484 in 2015.

During 2016-2020, the university published seven papers in sub-journals for Nature and Science and both the number and the quality of scientific research papers were enhanced.

According to the latest Essential Science Indicators or ESI released by Clarivate Analytics on July 9, Shanxi University ranked 102nd among universities across China, with four subjects listed in the world's top 1 percent.

Its environmental science and ecology studies became another discipline listed in the top 1 percent of ESI world's ranking after the university's chemistry, engineering and materials science.

Officials said the university will continue to create a positive innovation atmosphere, promote scientific research to a higher level, as well as contribute scientific and technological support to the socioeconomic development of Shanxi province.
