Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, has issued a raft of measures to revitalize its cultural and tourism markets, which were hit by the novel coronavirus epidemic this year, according to local reports.
Officials said that the municipal culture, tourism, radio and television bureau, together with the culture and tourism departments of Shenyang's districts, have launched various stimulus initiatives.
Heping district for example has promoted integration of culture, business, tourism and sports -- in order to help cultural and tourism enterprises to improve the quality of their services.
Shenbei new district has offered discount scenic spots tickets to lure visitors and has distributed vouchers worth 6 million yuan ($857,400) to help drive up spending -- covering areas including catering, tourism, sports, culture and shopping.
Currently, five A-level scenic spots in Shenbei new district have opened their doors to visitors and three key tourism companies have resumed operations, officials said.
Kangping county in Shenyang has focused on its local culture and history, to promote integrating the development of culture and tourism -- such as making movies, TV productions and composing local songs.
Officials said the county has nine national A-level tourist attractions -- including five 3A-level ones -- and they have cooperated with each other to promote themselves jointly to visitors.
