The total retail sales of consumer goods in Dalian in 2018 was 372.25 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2 percent over the previous year.
The total retail sales of consumer goods above designated size increased 16.4 percent year-on-year to 85.96 billion yuan ($12.09 billion). Retail sales of crops, cooking oil and food for the year were 7.2 billion yuan, an increase of 13.6 percent year-on-year. Beverage retail sales came in at 830 million yuan, up 15.9 percent. Tobacco and alcohol retail sales for the period totaled 1.39 billion yuan, an increase of 3. 6 percent. Retail sales of apparel, shoes and hats and texture products were 9.36 billion yuan, a decrease of 6.1 percent from 2017.
Cosmetic retail sales in 2018 increased 8.6 percent year-on-year to 1.49 billion yuan. Gold and silver jewelry retail sales totaled 1.51 billion yuan, a marginal increase of 0.8 percent year-on-year. Retail sales for daily necessities were 2.67 billion yuan, up 6.4 percent and hardware retail sales rose 13.9 percent year-on-year to 520 million yuan.
Retail sales of home appliance and acoustics equipment in 2018 totaled 4.29 billion yuan, up 3.9 percent year-on-year. Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine retail sales came in at 8.09 billion yuan, up 4.2 percent year-on-year. Cultural and stationary products retail sales were 720 million yuan, an increase of 5.7 percent year-on-year.
Furniture retail sales in 2018 were 540 million yuan, up 7.8 percent. Retail sales of telecommunications devices increased 108.8 percent to 6.51 billion yuan. Retail sales of petroleum and related products were 12.26 billion yuan, up 8.3 percent, while retail sales of construction materials came in at 320 million yuan, an increase of 13.3 percent year-on-year. Auto sales increased 30.5 percent year-on-year to 25.01 billion yuan in 2018.
In 2018, online retailers in Dalian reported overall sales of 8.57 billion yuan, up 69 percent year-on-year.
