July 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 34 new cases of confirmed infections (5 imported cases, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province and 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region; 29 indigenous cases, 20 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and 9 in Liaoning province), 2 new cases of suspected infections (1 imported case in Shanghai and 1 indigenous case in Liaoning), and no deaths. 16 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 256 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on July 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,034 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,955 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 79 confirmed cases (including 2 in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on July 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,784 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 78,889 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 261 confirmed cases (including 11 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 778,052 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 11,500 were still under medical observation.

On July 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 74 new asymptomatic cases (including 2 imported cases). 9 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 8 imported cases) and 18 cases became confirmed cases (all were indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on July 24, 251 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 90 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 24, 2,876 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 2,372 in Hong Kong (16 had died and 1,407 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 458 in Taiwan (7 had died and 440 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
