A LNG (liquefied natural gas) ship from Papua New Guinea was unloaded at the Yangkou Port terminal in Rudong county, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province on July 23. It was the 32nd LNG ship to dock at Yangkou Port terminal in 2020.

The terminal has received and unloaded 2.68 million tons of LNG and exported 3.65 billion cubic meters of natural gas so far this year.

Yangkou Port LNG Terminal is the first domestic LNG terminal with independent design, management, construction and commission.

Put into use in May 2011, the terminal has unloaded 31.78 million tons of liquefied natural gas from 382 LNG ships from 25 countries and regions such as Russia, Peru and Qatar, 70 percent of which are along the routes of the Belt and Road. Over the past nine years 44.2 billion cu m of natural gas has been exported from Yangkou Port terminal.

As a mainstay of clean energy supply in East China, the Yangkou Port LNG terminal has become a global LNG distribution center and a significant guarantee of domestic natural gas supply.
