Experts give counsel to Hechi's TCM industry

A research team of the Guangxi Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine conducted tours of places like Bama Yao autonomous county, Fengshan county, Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county, and Jinchengjiang district, guiding the construction of Chinese herbal medicine planting demonstration bases, as well as the talents training, characteristic service, and normalized COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control work of the bases.

During their tours, the experts fully affirmed the achievements in the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in Hechi in recent years, and pointed out that the county-level Chinese herbal medicine demonstration base has played an important role.

The experts suggested that the base should improve the level of Chinese herbal medicine planting technology, vigorously promote the joint construction of technical teams and the sharing of high-quality resources, as well as promote the city's Chinese herbal medicine planting service capabilities. Cultural promotion of Chinese herbal medicine should also be promoted to help people understand the value of TCM.

In addition, the experts gave suggestions on the development of the TCM industry in Hechi, including expanding the planting demonstration base, strengthening the brands of Chinese herbal medicines, and enhancing the technological level of the industry.

They also noted that the city can develop a whole industry chain of planting management, processing research and development, circulation, as well as sales with a model of integrating companies, cooperatives, planting bases, farmers, and markets to strengthen the brand of Chinese medicinal materials.
