Yantai to hold coastal festival

The 2020 Yantai Coastal Festival is scheduled to be held on July 25, the Yantai government announced at a news conference on July 22.

The festival, entitled "Go Yantai", aims to promote the city’s coastal culture and tourist sites to the world.

The event, which will run until Aug 30, will stage more than 170 festive activities revolving around four themes – coastal arts, sports, entertainment, and coastal cuisine.

In addition, a series of themed cultural activities will be staged including a 24-hour live coastal show, a coastal music festival, and a self-driving tour.

The opening ceremony for the festival will be held at the city’s Coastal Square on July 22 and feature a series of cultural performances. The ceremony will also be broadcast online via the internet, and 300,000 yuan ($42.840) in consumption coupons will be released.
