Cinemas in Zhoushan to reopen soon

Three cinemas in Zhoushan's Putuo district will reopen on July 22, while the rest are set to open around July 24, according to local media reports.

The three cinemas are all located in the district's Donggang area. An official from the publicity department of the CPC Putuo committee revealed that coupons will be released in an effort to revitalize the movie market, which has been dealt a hefty blow by the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to guidelines issued by the Chinese Film Circulation and Projection Association, cinemas must limit attendance to 30 percent of their normal capacity, filling only every other seat in every other row.

Moviegoers must make real-name reservations, wear masks, and maintain a distance of at least one meter from strangers, the guidelines read.
