On July 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new cases of confirmed infections (3 imported cases, 2 in Guangdong province and 1 in Shandong province; 13 indigenous cases in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai municipality), and no deaths. 17 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 212 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

In all, 1,923 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 84 confirmed cases (including 3 in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on July 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,660 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 78,775 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 251 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases. 771,589 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,925 were still under medical observation.
On July 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 42 new asymptomatic cases (including 12 imported cases). 4 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 2 imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on July 18, 147 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 87 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on July 18, 2,277 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,777 in Hong Kong (12 had died and 1,274 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 454 in Taiwan (7 had died and 440 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
