Jilin Citizen Cultural Festival kicks off

The seventh Jilin Citizen Cultural Festival kicked off on July 12 at the Changchun Movie Wonderland in Changchun -- capital of Northeast China's Jilin province -- according to local reports.

Hosted by the province's publicity department, culture and tourism department, literary federation, writers' association and radio and television station, the festival aims to entertain and enrich people's daily lives, officials said.

A symphony concert was staged following the opening ceremony, with artists and singers staging a quality performance for visitors.

Officials said that the festival will run until the end of September, during which more than 1,000 online and offline activities will be held, including art performances, cultural contests, exhibitions, lectures and seminars.

Provincial, municipal and county level departments will co-organize the events, they added.
