On July 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Shandong province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 14 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 538 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on July 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 1,979 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,893 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 86 confirmed cases (including 1 in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on July 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,602 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 78,648 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 320 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 7 suspected cases. 766,622 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 3,494 were still under medical observation.
On July 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 6 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 8 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 5 imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on July 12, 110 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 85 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on July 12, 1,966 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,469 in Hong Kong (7 had died and 1,214 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (45 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 451 in Taiwan (7 had died and 438 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
