July 10: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 4 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Shanghai municipality), 3 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 19 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 311 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on July 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 1,962 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,891 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 71 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 5 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on July 9, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,585 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 78,609 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 342 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 8 suspected cases. 765,615 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 3,796 were still under medical observation.
On July 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 3 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 2 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (both were indigenous cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on July 9, 113 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 82 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on July 9, 1,860 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,365 in Hong Kong (7 had died and 1,167 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (45 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 449 in Taiwan (7 had died and 438 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
