June 27: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 21 new cases of confirmed infections (4 imported cases, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Gansu province; 17 indigenous cases, all in Beijing municipality), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 5 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 791 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on June 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 1,899 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,814 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 85 confirmed cases (including 1 in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on June 26, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,483 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 78,444 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 405 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 8 suspected cases. 761,444 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,876 were still under medical observation.
On June 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 12 new asymptomatic cases (including 8 imported cases). 2 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 1 imported case) and 1 (indigenous case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on June 26, 106 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 64 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 26, 1,689 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,196 in Hong Kong (7 had died and 1,091 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (45 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 447 in Taiwan (7 had died and 435 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
