June 23: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 22, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 22 new cases of confirmed infections (9 imported cases, 7 in Gansu province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 13 indigenous cases, all in Beijing municipality), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both are indigenous cases in Beijing), and no deaths. 12 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 328 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on June 22, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,885 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,798 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 87 confirmed cases (including 1 in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 22, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,418 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 78,425 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 359 confirmed cases (including 13 cases in serious condition) and 15 suspected cases. 758,718 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,591 were still under medical observation.
On June 22, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 7 new asymptomatic cases (including 5 imported cases). 21 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 2 imported cases) and 1 (indigenous case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on June 22, 99 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 59 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 22, 1,652 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,161 in Hong Kong (5 had died and 1,078 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 446 in Taiwan (7 had died and 435 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
