More than 300 poverty alleviation projects will be undertaken this year by various enterprises and province, with more than 15.9 billion yuan ($2.24 billion) expected to be spent, Xinhua News Agency reported.
This year's Aid Tibet projects involve 19 provinces and cities and State-owned enterprises, which will invest in various industries and education.
They will also drive poverty alleviation programs through consumption, employment and technology in the region's six cities and one prefecture, according to the regional poverty alleviation office.
Of the poverty alleviation projects, 76 involve infrastructure, with an investment of about 2.26 billion yuan; 67 are industrial projects, with investment of more than 4.59 billion yuan; 58 are educational projects, with investment of more than 1 billion yuan, according to the office.
More than 1,696 Aid Tibet poverty alleviation projects have been conducted in the region since 2016, and more than 16.27 billion yuan has supported the projects.
