Construction on the second factory of Japan Murata Manufacturing Co finished on June 12.
With total investment exceeding $600 million, construction began on Murata’s second factory in November, 2018. After it is put into operation, it is expected to produce 80 billion chip ceramic capacitors per month and bring in about 4 billion yuan ($564.3 million) in annual sales.
Feng Xiaochun, director of Wuxi National Hi-tech District, expressed his gratitude to Wuxi Murata for its long-term support and development in WND. He said the second factory will mark a new beginning for both sides in deepening cooperation.
Murata is a world-famous high-end electronic component supplier which set up its Wuxi subsidiary branch in 1994. Wuxi Murata, located in the Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND), has become Murata's largest overseas production base, manufacturing up to 40 percent of the world's electronic devices.
Wuxi Murata mainly produces ceramic capacitors, filters and high-frequency parts, which are widely used in smart phones, artificial intelligence, intelligent automobiles, intelligent household appliances, and more.
