Northeast China's Liaoning province is to launch a series of promotional events highlighting its intangible cultural heritage, in celebration of the China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day which falls on June 13, according to local officials.
The activities are being hosted by Liaoning Provincial Cultural Performing Arts Group and will be organized by Liaoning cultural heritage protection center, they said.
The activities will focus on traditional skills, arts, sports, medicine and food, in order to promote knowledge about intangible cultural heritage and popularize the concept of a healthy life.
Activities will run to June 30 -- mainly held online, with some held offline. During the period, 10 inheritors -- masters of their craft officially appointed to pass on their knowledge -- of Liaoning's intangible cultural heritage will showcase their handcraft skills at the Shenyang Palace Museum and tell stories about cultural items.
In addition, more than 30 intangible cultural heritage skills and nearly 1,000 products will be showcased during online activities, with inheritors promoting them, according to the organizers.
