capital city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- plans to renovate 93 older residential areas and plans to install 100 elevators in 2020, according to the city’s housing and urban-rural development bureau.
Hohhot’s Xincheng district plans to renovate 48 residential areas with a total area of 1.33 million square meters. Local officials said the preliminary design and the work approved by the National Development and Reform Commission have been completed.
Tenders for the construction contracts are expected to be completed by the end of June.
Hohhot’s Huimin district, meanwhile, plans to renovate two residential areas with a total area of 147,000 sq m. At present, the relevant work of the preliminary stage of the project has been completed.
Yuquan district plans to renovate six communities with a total area of 333,800 sq m. Of these, the Keyuan Jiayuan community has completed tenders for the work and the other communities are going through the preliminary preparation procedures for bidding.
Saihan district plans to renovate 18 residential communities with a total area of 383,000 sq m. Eight communities have started construction and other communities are going through pre-bid preparations for the tender.
Officials said Hohhot also plans to install 100 elevators this year.
Xincheng district plans to install 10 elevators and the preliminary design has been completed. It is expected that the bidding for the construction will be completed in mid-June.
Plans are to install 16 elevators in Huimin district. It is expected that the bidding process will be completed in mid-June and construction will begin in July.
In Yuquan district, 22 elevators will be installed. At present, 10 proposed elevators have had feasibility reports and are going through relevant planning procedures.
Saihan district plans to install 52 elevators and has completed preliminary preparations such as bidding by contractors.
