Just the facts: Where novel coronavirus comes from

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues its spread, another virus is hard at work: the misinformation epidemic.

One piece of misinformation is the allegation that the novel coronavirus was engineered, or accidentally released, at a Chinese laboratory.

So far, scientists have confirmed that all evidence shows the novel coronavirus originated in nature, and the Wuhan Institute of Virology has nothing to do with the origin of the virus.
