Date set for 2020 Guangzhou sci-tech fair

Organizers announced that the Canton Tower Science and Technology Conference 2020 will be held from Oct 13 to 14 in Guangzhou during a press conference on May 21. It will feature various activities including a leaders summit, 14 themed forums, and closed-door think tank meetings.

Representatives from governments, international organizations, companies, and civic groups will participate in the event, discussing the development prospects for hot topics like 5G, industrial internet, artificial intelligence, and public health.

Zhu Dongfang, president of International Data Group (IDG) Asia, said that this year's meeting will not only focus on new technological development trends, but also pay attention to social issues like poverty alleviation and public health.

Chi Min, general manager of IDG Asia in the South China area, said that three themed forums on new manufacturing will be held to discuss the development of the new manufacturing industry.

This year's closed-door think tank meeting will pay attention to the interdisciplinary and cross-industry cooperation in medicine, as well as disease prevention and control considering the needs of the COVID-19 outbreak.
