June 4: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 3, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 1 new case of confirmed infections (an imported case in Guangdong province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 5 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 383 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remain unchanged.
As of 24:00 on June 3, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,763 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,703 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 60 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 3, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,022 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 78,319 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 69 confirmed cases (including 2 in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. So far, 746,084 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 4,360 are now under medical observation.
On June 3, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 4 new asymptomatic cases (all are imported cases). 35 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 1 imported case) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on June 3, 326 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 43 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 3, 1,581 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,093 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 1,039 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 443 in Taiwan (7 had been dead and 427 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
