A national quality supervision center for green building material approved by the State Administration for Market Regulation - only the second of its kind in China - was recently established in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The center started construction in July 2017 and passed its acceptance test in December 2019. With the support of related government departments, the center introduced a 33-person technology team and invested more than 15 million yuan ($2.1 million) to purchase advanced equipment.
Currently the center has the ability to test 276 products and generate 536 parameters, covering bricking-up materials, glass doors and windows, thermal insulation materials, ready-mix concrete and mortar, waterproof materials, metal materials, and cement.
The center is expected to further enhance Guizhou's green building material quality supervision abilities, provide technology support for national green building material manufacturers and users, and become a platform for green materials' healthy development.
As one of the top 10 industries in Guizhou, the new building material industry aims to achieve an output value of 225 billion yuan by 2022, focusing on green building material development.
