Several self-service machines offering 24-hour government services were recently put into operation in Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND), the first of their kind in Wuxi.
By presenting their ID cards, locals can handle over 300 personal business and government affairs items in the 40-square-meter self-service zone located on the east side of the WND Science and Technology Exchange Center, including traffic violations, inquiring about social insurance business, medical information, provident funds and credit reports, and receiving electronic approval for business projects.
People can also take photos of certificates such as work permits, passports, and driver's licenses in the self-service zone.
Cai Runxian, director of the Approval System Reform Department of the Xinwu District Administrative Approval Bureau, said the self-service zone will be introduced to all service centers in Xinwu's sub-districts.
