Since the launch of Hohhot Metro Line 1 at the end of last year, Hohhot -- capital city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- has installed the country's first multi-line, multi-service urban rail cloud platform, known as the Chengguiyun platform, according to local media reports.
The Chengguiyun platform is a smart cloud platform that harnesses cloud computing technology. This can conduct multiple layers of services such as operating a metro, enterprise management, as well as manage construction and resources for urban rail transit.
Officials said it can achieve full coverage of information services, unified operations and maintenance management and security management and control.
According to Hohhot Metro officials, the Chengguiyun platform carries seven business systems including an automatic train monitoring system, integrated monitoring system and automatic ticket checking system.
Officials said the platform mainly guarantees the normal operations, maintenance and other functional requirements of the Hohhot Metro Line 1 and Line 2 projects.
They added that it can increase resource utilization by more than 50 percent and improve operational management efficiency by more than 30 percent.
Through the triple guarantee mechanism of the main center, disaster recovery center and station cloud node, the reliability of business services is said to have been improved by more than 50 percent.
