Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, launched the 2020 Guiyang Spring Tea Festival on May 20, along with a series of activities to celebrate the first International Tea Day.
The activities aim to promote the healthy lifestyle of drinking tea, popularize tea drinking knowledge, accelerate tea-based cultural exchanges between Guizhou and other countries, and promote the development of Guizhou's tea industry.
The launch ceremony declared the aim of sharing Guizhou's clean and green tea with the world. The organizing committee issued a certificate of honor to frequent teahouse customers, and the Administration for Market Regulation of Guizhou Province released guidance for drinking Guizhou tea.

Meanwhile, 38 tea companies allowed visitors to experience genuine Guizhou tea through tea sipping and tasting, promotional activities and an exhibition.
Over the following days, the organizing committee will organize tea-themed lectures, tea making competitions, book readings, and other activities to help citizens develop the habit of tea drinking, and bring Guizhou tea to more people.
