Since the beginning of this year, Yizhou district of Hechi has adjusted the production and sales structure, adopting the online to offline (OTO) model to broaden the sales channels of agricultural specialty products and helping farmers increase their incomes.
Yizhou's OTO model is an integration of online orders and offline purchases, which ensured both high quality and a fair price for the products.
“We connected with the impoverished households through the local government and engaged in order-based purchasing of agricultural products, so that products could be purchased and shipped immediately, allowing customers to receive fresh products and stabilizing the price,” said Wang Linzhen, manager of Yizhou Zhafeila Agricultural Products Co.
The company has declared 39 kinds of agricultural products for sale. To date, it has sold nearly 30,000 kilograms of fresh corn, rice, soybeans, and other agricultural products, as well as 2,500 chickens and 100,000 eggs, with the sales amount reaching 769,000 yuan ($107,436.81).
At present, Yizhou district has completed the planting of 31,500 mu (2,100 hectares) in fruit and 78,500 mu in vegetables, producing 154,000 tons of vegetables. It has received 7.9 million yuan in industry awards and subsidies, benefiting 2,255 impoverished households.
