With the help of Guiyang foreign affairs office, Guizhou Tyre Co in Southwest China's Guizhou province has successfully launched its overseas project in Vietnam - despite the COVID-19 outbreak.
The company's radial tire project is a key Belt and Road Initiative project in Guizhou, and was all ready to start construction when the COVID-19 epidemic broke out, with all overseas trips being suspended in March.
To ensure the implementation of the project, the company turned to Guiyang foreign affairs office for help. The office opened a green passage for the company and offered to match Vietnam's policies and rules on epidemic prevention and control.
The office required the company to arrive at the entry and exit port early and save enough time for inspection. The company had to outline their route and anti-epidemic measures to the office before the visit, and be fully prepared with individual protection measures.
The office also required the company to buy medical insurance, and establish an emergency communication mechanism to report to the administration department and foreign affairs office every half month.
Currently, the first batch of two staff members have finished their quarantine in a third country and arrived in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the construction.
Due to the adjustment of Vietnam's entry and exit policies, the second batch of five staff members is standing by in China.
