Cases handled by China's procuratorates in April double that of March

BEIJING -- The number of cases handled by procuratorates across China in April more than doubled that of March, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) on May 15.
Procuratorates nationwide approved the arrest of 38,670 suspects in 26,810 cases in April, up 130 percent and 108 percent from March, data from the SPP showed.
The number of robbery cases increased from 298 in March to 613 in April and the number of theft cases rose from 2,292 in March to 5,574 in April, according to the SPP data.
